Why Genuine Surrogacy Relationships Change Everything
Expect Miracles Surrogacy, Real Journey ·
Most people think surrogacy is about carrying someone else’s baby. I see it differently.
I’m stepping into this journey because I want to help bring life into the world. But there’s something deeper pulling me forward.
I want to truly know the people I’m helping, and I want them to know me.
When Support Actually Matters
My last pregnancy taught me everything about what genuine support looks like.
I threw up the entire pregnancy. Every single day was a struggle.
Without my friends and family, I don’t know how I would have made it through. They gave me physical support when I couldn’t function and emotional support when I felt broken.
That experience showed me what I need to feel truly supported. It also showed me what I want to create with my intended parents.
What Genuine Actually Means
When I talk about wanting a genuine relationship with intended parents, people assume I mean regular check-ins about the baby.
That’s only half of it.
Genuine means they care about my wellbeing too. They make sure I have everything I need to keep both myself and their baby healthy.
Research shows that surrogacy support throughout the entire process helps both parties maintain strong, positive relationships. This isn’t just nice to have.
It’s essential.
The Power of Just Listening
I want my intended parents to be able to call, text, or video call anytime to check on their baby. That openness matters to me.
But I also want them to listen when I need to talk.
Studies reveal that pregnant women describe emotional support as “listening to them” and “expressing care.” When someone truly listens, they understand.
Understanding changes everything.
During difficult moments, I don’t need someone to fix everything. I need someone to guide me through the process by really hearing what I’m experiencing.
How This Actually Works
I envision regular FaceTime calls where we check on the baby together. Many successful surrogates already use video calling to maintain daily communication with intended parents.
But these conversations go deeper than medical updates.
We talk about how I’m feeling. We discuss what I need. They offer guidance when I face challenges.
This isn’t about them managing me. It’s about them walking through this journey with me as partners.
The Relationship That Changes Everything
Most people expect the surrogate to be the expert who handles everything independently.
I want something different.
I want intended parents who see this as our shared experience. Who understand that supporting me means supporting their baby.
Who know that genuine care flows both ways.
When that happens, we’re not just creating a baby together. We’re creating a relationship that honors everyone involved.
That’s the kind of surrogacy journey I’m ready for.
