Some Blessings Grow When You Share Them

There’s a look children give their mothers that changes everything.

It happens after they score their first goal. After they nail that difficult math problem. After any moment when they’ve conquered something that once seemed impossible.

They turn to you with eyes full of pure love and pride, wrap their arms around you, and whisper “I love you, Mom.” In that instant, you understand what it truly means to be blessed.

I’ve experienced that look countless times with my own children. Each time, it fills me with a joy so profound that I can barely contain it.

And each time, I think about the families who are still waiting for their first glimpse of it.

The Miracle of Creating Families

Most people assume surrogacy decisions are either purely selfless or purely financial. The reality is more beautiful than either assumption.

I want to become a surrogate because I want to bless a family with the same joy, love, and experience I’ve been blessed with as a mother. But here’s what surprised me about this decision: helping create a family is a blessing for me too.

Research supports what my heart already knew. Altruistic motivations drive 72% of surrogate mothers, with the desire to help couples start families ranking as the primary reason. Only 31% cite financial compensation as very important.

The numbers tell a story my heart has been writing for years.

Beyond Carrying a Baby

When I imagine intended parents experiencing that first moment with their child, when I picture them getting that look for the very first time, pure happiness floods through me.

I’m not just carrying a baby. I’m carrying dreams, hopes, and the beginning of a family’s story.

Studies show that emotional bonding between parents and children creates the foundation for healthy development. That look in my children’s eyes represents something scientifically profound: the secure attachment that shapes their entire future.

Every family deserves to build that bond. Every parent deserves to receive that look.

The Blessing Multiplies

What moves me most about this journey is how the blessing multiplies rather than divides.

When I share the experience of creating life, I don’t lose anything. Instead, I gain the knowledge that somewhere in the world, a child is giving their parents that same precious look I treasure with my own children.

I gain the joy of knowing I helped write the first chapter of a family’s love story.

I gain the profound satisfaction of turning my own blessing into someone else’s miracle.

Ready for This Journey

To the intended parents reading this: I’m ready to be part of your miracle.

I’m ready to carry your dreams with the same care I’ve carried my own children. I’m ready to help you experience that first moment when your child looks at you with pure love and whispers your new name: Mom. Dad.

Because some blessings are meant to be shared. And when they are, they don’t get smaller.

They multiply.
