You may have heard of superstitions like a lucky rabbit’s foot or not to cross paths with black cat. But did you know there are also some sticky superstitions for surrogates on transfer day?
“Drinking pomegranate juice is supposed to help thicken your lining and pineapple has an enzyme that may help with implantation,” said first-time surrogate, Kristin Rivers.
Pretty much anything pineapple is a good luck charm according to Melissa Peterson who painted a pineapple on her toes.
Surrogate Aleana Wentzel designed her own transfer t-shirt and a necklace; which has a journey compass symbol, a pineapple and a four-leaf clover.
For Kristin, tracking down those fuzzy green socks proved challenging.
“The day before we few out for the transfer my mom found green socks and I was like whew we are good now, everything is going to go smooth and I have luck on my side,” she said.
