The Surrogacy experience is described as a Journey; a road that many are traveling together. First time surrogate Sarah knows that feeling.
“Each Journey is different; it is messy and amazing all at the same time,’ she said.
“I am nervous because I don’t won’t to let my Intended Fathers down but so excited at the opportunity to give them a baby!”
She knows that the nerves are normal and the feeling of being able to help a family overpowers everything.
“I have watched friends and family struggle to get pregnant or stay pregnant,” she said.
“If I can help one less family go through that pain it is all worth it.”
When Sara met her IF’s over skype, it was an instant connection.
“Our initial skype call went perfectly and the nerves I had prior to it when away in a second, it was like we had been friends forever!”
“They are so caring, I couldn’t imagine doing this for better people.”
Sarah was set with her lucky shirt and cute socks for transfer day. But there was one superstition she would not follow…forget the fries!
“It is mostly because I really just don’t like McDonalds,” she said smiling.
Now that Sara is at the transfer stage of her journey she is excited to think about what the future will bring.
If everything goes as planned she is looking forward to having both dads in the delivery room.
“We’re hoping to have daddy catch the baby as he/she is coming out and then having the other dad do immediate skin to skin.”
“But even if it doesn’t go according to plan, just seeing their faces when they frst see their child is going to be the best!”
