“I am a laid back southern girl to the core,” said first time surrogate, Jaime.
The mother of two boys; ages seven and three, loves spending time outdoors with her kids, hiking, going to the mountains and sailing.
Her “go with the flow” mentality is inspired by one of her favorite sayings:
“We can’t direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails.”
Sometimes, you don’t know what direction life may take you.
“When my husband and I decided to have kids, it didn’t happen right away,” she said.
“Once I held my son, I knew that no other feeling could compare to having a child.”
Jaime then began thinking about becoming a surrogate.
“I want to be able to give the gift of a baby to a couple who have exhausted all their options.”
“I want them to feel what I do when I look at my boys.”
Jaime was nervous going into the call to meet her potential match.
“I kept thinking, What if they didn’t like me?”
Those nerves were soon gone after they began their conversation.
“It went great,” she said. “They were easy to talk to and reminded me of my husband and myself!”
Jaime is also excited that her Intended Parents are close by.
“They only live about four hours away from us, so I’m hoping they can be very involved in the pregnancy.”
Jaime says she is looking forward to helping create a family.
