AN HONOR TO BE CHOSEN

About This Journey:

For Kasey Vance, becoming a surrogate came naturally.

“When I had my daughter it made my heart so full,” she said. “I wanted to help a couple experience that wonderful feeling as well.”

After giving birth to her daughter she began to research surrogacy.

Having a pretty easy pregnancy herself, Kasey was eager to get started. She was soon matched with a couple and the transfer worked on the first try. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

“He was born on his mother’s birthday,” said Kasey.

“What a great gif!”

Soon after the birth of their son, the parents wanted to start a sibling project and Kasey was more than happy to help them out again.

Although the second time did take a couple tries it was well worth it. She became pregnant with twins. The babies were born at 34 weeks; strong and healthy.

The intended parents said their family is full with three children…but when Kasey was asked: What if they did want another baby?

She didn’t hesitate with her answer: “I’d do it again in a heartbeat!”

Kasey says when people find out she is a surrogate they are usually amazed by her selflessness. But she doesn’t see it that way.

“I see being a surrogate; chosen to carry someone else’s child for them, as such a huge honor, said Kasey.

“I am so lucky that I was trusted enough to carry their babies.”

After giving birth to the twins Kasey and her husband had a second daughter to complete their own family.

She is now planning on doing one more surrogacy journey for another family.

“The feeling I get when thinking of how happy I can make a family is really indescribable,” said Kasey.

“Every time I get a picture and see their smiling happy faces it makes me feel so proud that I am a surrogate”
