“When I was a little kid I wanted to be a Superhero,” said first-time surrogate Lexi.

But, unfortunately, growing up to tends to wipe away the fantasies of becoming an actual caped crusader or wonder woman.

Even though real life set in and her childhood dream had to be altered, Lexi knew she still wanted to do something big that would help others.

“I saw a Surrogacy group on Facebook and it just clicked,” she said. “This was it!”

She got in touch with the team at Expect Miracles Surrogacy and filled out an application.

“The coordinators were amazing, they answered all my questions quickly and believe me I ask a lot of questions!”

As a mother, to two-year-old daughter Ella, Lexi knows what it means to have a part of you passed on.

“Surrogacy is so incredible because it is their baby and I am just carrying that baby for nine months.”

One of the common questions Lexi gets asked is: “Don’t you feel an attachment to the baby?”

She explains it as “extreme babysitting.”

“I am taking care of the baby, until she’s ready to finally go home with her father.”

Lexi was matched with an Intended Father from Sweden.

“We hit it off right away on our skype call and keep in touch every day on Facebook,” she said.

Even though her Intended Father is more than four thousand miles away in another country, with the right technology, he can be right by her side.

They decided to Video Chat during the embryo transfer.

“I want him to be involved as much as possible and he does too,” said Lexi.

“This is such a big moment, I am excited and a little nervous.”

Lexi says a milestone she is looking forward to is the first ultrasound.

“My intended father will be there in person, “she said. “I will finally get to meet him face to face and we can share this special moment.”

Lexi’s childhood dream is coming true and there’s no need to wear a disguise when surrogacy saves the day!
